FAQs
Do you photograph male models as well as female models?
Of course! I don’t discriminate when it comes to models entering the industry! I am a true believer that there is a place in the industry for everyone and I love to coach and train anyone with a love or passion for modeling.
Do you only shoot fashion?
Not necessarily, but it’s what I prefer. I can absolutely shoot seniors, families, pets, and other areas, but I will put my own twist on how to create them. There will always be a fashion or fine art undertone to the shoots that I create to inject my personal style.
What photographic style do you gravitate towards the most?
I have always gravitated more towards a moody cinematic style. My house is even designed in a gothic moody way so it’s not a far leap that I love jewel tones, dramatic shadows, and black and white imagery. However, I am never afraid to experiment with brighter or cleaner styles. These are showcased in my test shoots (e-comm) and my Poolside styled shoot.
What kind of experience do you have within the fashion photography industry?
Since beginning my photographic journey I have gravitated towards portrait photography. I started in the fashion industry as a model in my senior year of high school. During every photoshoot as a model I loved to pick up tips and tricks from the different photographers I worked with. As I grew in the industry I started to realize that many of the photographers I was working with didn’t know many of the same ideas that I knew from observing. I realized that I could do better and switch over from modeling to photographing. I have been growing my fashion photography business for just over a year, but I have at least 6 years of experience in the industry itself, including shadowing industry professionals at Coco Rocha Model Camp. I have also put hours into learning my techniques through courses with ProEdu and PPA.
How do you prepare for a shoot?
It depends entirely on the shoot and the needs of the client. For a styled shoot I take at least a month to prep by finding a location, creating a mood board, planning makeup and hair looks, locating wardrobe and accessories, set design, props, and communicating with my models so they are fully aware of what’s needed from them each step of the way. For a test shoot, it’s much simpler. I mostly shoot out of my home studio so it’s setting up lights and backgrounds and making sure my home is presentable and comfortable to anyone coming in. Overall, I like to start with meeting with my clients or speaking with them over the phone to get a clear understanding of what is expected of myself and my client.

How do you price your packages and shoots?
As a model turned photographer I understand more than anyone how expensive development can be so I try to make my shoots as affordable as possible. I base my prices off of shoot time, editing time, prep time, equipment costs, education, and my personal style. As much as I love to collaborate with artists, I simply can’t afford to not charge at all. If you are an artist and want to collaborate, I do offer discounts where I will only charge for equipment fees and studio fees so I can continue to create high quality work without losing money.
Can you work with different body types?
Um, Yes! I take pride in the comfortable and positive atmosphere I create with each client. Ask anyone I’ve worked with in the past and they can attest to how comfortable I make them feel.
