Tana Lee
“I don’t want to play it safe. I want to speak my mind, be a little crazy, and find people who value realness over perfection.”

I’ve never been good at writing these types of pages, but I am pretty good at answering questions about myself and what I do. So, bear with me, while I create an interview-style about me page. Feel free to skip around to the questions you are more interested in learning about!
Lets start simple; Who are you and where are you from?
As you probably could have guessed, my name is Tana Lee. You know, as in like Tana Lee Designs! I also tell people I’m Montana without the Mon and Tana from Montana. Also I tend to tell people Tana is not short for Montana, it’s just long for Tana. You’re probably wondering why I need to say so many different things to people when I introduce myself, but my goal is simple here. Make people remember me. If I give people a thousand ways to remember my name chances are they’re going to remember something, even if it’s just “Montana”.
And yes, like I tell people, I really am from Montana. I grew up in North central Montana as well as Central Montana, Havre and Harlowton. I moved to North Carolina at age 20 and settled in Raleigh.
Is it just you in NC?
Nope! my husband and my best friend from Montana moved with me! We all lived in the same apartment for the first two years and have only recently moved apart from each other, with y friend getting her own place and my husband and I with our own apartment as well. My husband and I also have 3 cats that came with us all the way from Montana and let me tell you, traveling 32 hours in the car with three cats is not fun. Even if they’re all drugged up.
How do you spend a day off?
Lol, what’s a day off? Seriously though, My days off are spent working on one job or another, Currently I’m mostly trying to build my business and garner clientele. When I do actually have a real day off though, I like to be traveling, at the beach, or working on some sort of art piece. My husband, having grown up in South Korea, loves the ocean so we spend as much time over there as we can, though it’s not as much as we would like it to be.
Are you and introvert or an extrovert?
LI like to say that I’m a bit of both, an ambivert if you will. I like to say that I have an “extrovert switch” that I turn on when I am networking or out in public. I can be the most bubbly and outgoing person you’ve ever met if I want to be, I think that’s when I’m the most obnoxious, but people seem to respond well to that particular personality. However, when taking a day off I like to be a homebody and an introvert. I won’t talk to anyone unless they approach me first, but I’d always rather be home with my husband than out being social with a million people.
How would your 10-year-old self feel about who you’ve become?
The way she would think I’m actually the coolest person she’s ever met makes me so proud. She would absolutely fawn over me and I love that. My real goal in life is just to be someone that a young me would truly be proud of. I just want to do that little girl justice and I really think she would be so excited to get to where I’m at now. Sometimes it’s hard to remember because I don’t feel that amazing about myself or feel that I’ve accomplished much, but if I think about how little me would see myself I realize that I’m actually doing a lot better than I think I am'.
